Metro Infanta Foundation has made a small grant to St. Anthony of Padua Parish to help a poor family upgrade their home. With less than $500, Helen and her three children will enjoy an upgraded dwelling. For years the family had lived in this shanty. The roof leaks when it rains. And they had to put up with adverse weather conditions, not to mention not having any privacy. Now, their new home will keep them dry when it rains and give them a better shade under the sun. In addition, Helen and her three children can enjoy some privacy.
Helen and her three children can thank Fr. Joefran Taliban, parish priest of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Casiguran, Aurora, for his care for his parishioners. After several visits in Helen’s neighborhood, he thought the family needs some help. Posting several photo of Helen’s shanty, Fr. Joefran engaged a few to help. Metro Infanta Foundation sent the parish 20,000 pesos that Fr. Joefran requested. As a result, he has given this family a home fit for human beings. Moreover, Fr. Joefran has given Helen and her three children some measure of dignity.
